ACE 2016

On April 15th and 16th, Simon, Emma and Erin attended the annual Aesthetic Conference and Exhibition in London. The ACE conference hosts a variety of aesthetic organisations and practitioners allowing us to network and discover new innovative techniques and technologies.

On the Friday morning, Dr. Simon presented on ‘What to do with the mid-face’ alongside Mr. Dalvi Humzah and Frances Turner Trail who are regarded as some of the most skilled and experienced aesthetic medical practitioners in the UK. Simon’s lecture focused on volumisation of the mid-face, in which he performed a dermal filler injection live in order to demonstrate how to reduce the signs of ageing on the mid-face. Performing a live demonstration allowed delegates to view his expert techniques to learn exactly what to do and what not to do when treating the mid-face.

On Friday afternoon Simon performed another live demonstration on Jawline and Chin Rejuvenation with Emma as the moderator and on Saturday afternoon Emma presented a live demonstration on the Lips and the Perioral Complex. Both of these live demonstrations were presented to busy audiences and allowed delegates to learn from Emma & Simons adept techniques. We had a brilliant time at ACE 2016 networking and enhancing our skills and we are already looking forward to next year!

Emma’s Italian Masterclass

Here at Clinetix, we have a passion for continuing education. The aesthetic medicine industry is constantly striving to improve products and techniques for procedures. At Clinetix we endeavour to use the most advanced techniques and products.

Last week Dr. Emma flew to Bologna, Italy to train with some of the best practitioners in the aesthetic medical industry at the IBSA Masterclass to discuss and learn about the recent advancements in HA dermal fillers, Aliaxin and Profhilo. The course was ran by Dr. G Salti, Dr. A Tateo & Dr. G. B Siquier Dameto and involved 3 days of intense practical training.

At the masterclass Emma gained some hands on experience using an advanced method to dermal fillers for a full face approach and then later focusing on the upper and middle third of the face and finally finishing with hands rejuvenation. This masterclass allowed Emma to build on an already extensive knowledge to ensure that she is always providing the best possible treatment to her clients.

Dermal fillers are a natural biodegradable gels which can be used to create volume and structure or used superficially to decrease the appearance of lines and furrows to create a more youthful appearance. The most common dermal fillers are made from hyaluronic acid, which is a molecule naturally found in abundance in the skin meaning that allergic reactions to dermal fillers are very rare. Dermal fillers are often used for plumping of the lips, smoothing of the nose and mouth lines. In expert hands such as Drs. Clinetix Christmas Glow Evening

On Thursday evening (26th November), we held our very first Christmas Glow Event at our Hyndland clinic. The purpose of this event was to give our guests a greater insight in to what we do at Clinetix and what we might be able to offer them.

The turn out to the event was great and our lovely guests were very interactive and asked us some very interesting questions. The evening consisted of three demonstrations of some of our more popular treatments.

The first demonstration was a chemical peel and this was carried out by our newest therapist Holly and was talked through by Erin. The next demonstration was of the body contouring treatment, Velashape. This was carried out by one of our senior therapists, Kelly, and was talked through again by Erin. Finally we had a toxins master class which was carried out by Simon where he demonstrated the refreshed and natural look that you can get at Clinetix with these types of injections, rather than the ‘fake’ or ‘frozen look’ that is often associated with anti-wrinkle injections.

The delicious canapes were provided by local business, The Kitchen Window, and the drinks for the evening were provided by the lovely Lorna from Oddbins.

The evening was a huge success and it is something we hope to hold again in the near future. Thank you to everyone who made it there on the night and to The Kitchen Window and Oddbins for providing us with the delicious refreshments.

The Annual Scottish Aesthetic Conference

We have been organising the 4th Scottish Aesthetic Conference, being held at the Radisson Blu in Glasgow on the 8th and 9th of May this year.  This meeting is designed to bring aesthetic practitioners together from all across Scotland, the North of England and Northern Ireland to share their ideas and skills, to raise the standard of our practice.

This year is the first time we have run the conference over two days, with one day of master classes and workshops before the second day of lectures and demonstrations.

Conferences and meetings like these are particularly important for us for at the moment there is no specific training or education pathway for a doctor, dentist or nurse the gain competencies in their aesthetic practice.  Educational meetings can demonstrate areas in which a practitioner can learn further, as well as providing a means of training by observational practice.

Clinetix @ Debenhams

Emma and Shirley were pleased to help out at the Debenhams Gala Event at Silverburn tonight.  It was a great opportunity to meet the shoppers and give advice on skin health and discuss the benefits of aesthetic medicine to an interested audience.  The customers were interested in learning about the cosmecuetical products and the indications for wrinkle relaxing and dermal filler treatments.  Shirley stole the show with her talks on reversing the signs of skin ageing, and more importantly, preventing them from occurring in the first place.

We’d like to thank Debenhams, especially Angela and Helen, for asking us to be involved.  You did an amazing job of organising such a successful event and we will definitely be back for the next one in May!
