We want to give you the opportunity to get to know the Clinetix team! Today, we will be speaking to the newest member of the Clinetix team, Medical Practitioner Dr Julianne!
So Dr Julianne, tell us a bit about yourself!
Hi, I’m Julianne and graduated from Glasgow Dental School in 2009. I really enjoy doing dentistry but around 5 years ago I decided to train in Aesthetic Medicine as well and now love getting to do both. I work three days a week in dental practice and now the other two are in Clinetix. My aim with aesthetic medicine has always been to achieve subtle and natural results for my patients – I’m so delighted to join Clinetix as they share the same ethos as me.
What job do you do at Clinetix?
I am one of the Medical Practitioners here at Clinetix. I provide injectable treatments (such as anti-wrinkle injections and filler treatments) as well as teaching in the Aesthetic Training Academy with Paula and Caroline. I really like getting to work with the therapists and all the Clinetix team to get the best collaborative treatments planned for patients – I don’t get to do this when I’m providing facial aesthetic treatment in my dental practice so I really enjoy it.
How did you get into Aesthetic Medicine?
I actually decided to train in facial aesthetics because of my mum. Sadly my dad developed an illness which made my mum become his full time carer – she had always been such a confident lady and over the years she lost some of this confidence and just felt she looked so tired all the time. Learning how to provide very natural aesthetic treatments let me help her feel more like herself again. It made me realise what an impact that facial aesthetic treatment can have to boost positive mental health when it is done the natural way.
What do you enjoy most about working at Clinetix?
That’s hard! I really feel as though I’ve landed my dream job at Clinetix as there are so many aspects that I enjoy. I love making patients feel at ease and seeing a big smile in the mirror after treatment is finished. I also really love working in a clinic that is always moving forward and providing new treatments. For example, we’re just about to start providing Ultherapy® which is a treatment that helps tighten the skin by using ultrasound waves to promote collagen stimulation. There’s never a dull moment in here and I love it.
