So Kelly, tell us a bit about yourself!
Hi everyone, I’m Kelly and I am the Operations Manager at Clinetix. I am originally from Derbyshire and moved up to Glasgow 28 years ago. I have spent the last 12 years living in Glasgow’s West End enjoying the local restaurants and pubs. With the arrival of Harrison in 2018, we recently moved out to the suburbs for a quieter life.
What job do you do at Clinetix?
I am responsible for the day to day running of the clinics, overseeing the clinical team, support team and administration team. I liaise and communicate with floor staff and Clinical Directors to enable the smooth running of the entire Clinetix group.
This includes recruitment and coordination of employees; managing employee roles, designing job descriptions and career paths and supporting each individual team members personal development.
My role also includes strategic business development – creating strategic plans and working with the marketing team to review and implement changes to the strategies where necessary and ensuring all marketing reflects the brand and ethos of the clinic.
I am also responsible for the growth and development of business plans, including but not limited to financial reviews, forecasting and budgeting. My role also involves maintaining our Healthcare Improvement Scotland registration, creating and effectively implementing policies in accordance with legislation.
How have you progressed throughout Clinetix?
In the six years I have worked at Clinetix my progression has been very fast! I began working for Clinetix West End as a senior skin therapist. After a few months, I was offered additional reponsibilities to support the management team. My natural love of organisation saw me move over to the administration and management side of the business full time in 2015.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I enjoy working within a team of talented professionals with the opportunity to work autonomously to drive the business forward. I enjoy the process of business development, from the start of a new project when strategy planning to the completion. I like being constantly challenged as it allows me to develop my personal and professional skills.
What award have you won?
In 2019 I was awarded Practice Manager of the Year UK at the prestigious My Face My Body Awards! Having the support of a strong team allows me to develop the clinic and myself both personally and professionally. The industry, clinics and my role are constantly changing and developing which offers me new and exciting challenges.
What does winning this award mean to you?
The competition was huge as the award covered the whole of the UK. Being finalised within a category of such talented and dedicated professionals at this level felt like a massive achievement in itself. There are no words to describe the feeling of hearing my name being read out as the winner at the ceremony in Las Vegas, I was so proud. I always put 100% of myself into my role as I truly love what I do, to receive the recognition with this award was the cherry on top of an already tasty cake.
