Dermal Fillers

As the face ages, it looses it’s elasticity and rigidity and starts to sag.  This causes deeper lines and wrinkles around the nose, mouth and chin, as well as a hollowness that can develop over the cheeks and temples.

Dermal Fillers are used to fill deeper lines and wrinkles around the lower part of the face, to restore volume to the cheeks, temples and jawline, and to restore volume and structure to lips.  Dermal fillers can also be used to revolumise and rejuvenate the aging hands, and to perform non-surgical nose reshaping (rhinoplasty)

The technique involved depends on the type of filler being used, and the area being injected.  Local anasthetic can be used for sensitive areas, particularly around the lips and mouth.  For other areas, a simple anaesthetic cream or even an ice-pack is enough.  The procedure can take between half an hour and one hour.  Bruising sometimes occurs but is usually very small and short lived.

The results from a dermal filler treatment can last from one to two years, depending on which area is treated and which filler is used.
