Rejuvenation Medicine
Rejuvenation Medicine, or Anti-Aging Medicine is a developing science.
The revolution started when Doctors started using injections of botulinum toxin, or Botox, to relax facial muscles and reduce lines and wrinkles around the eye. This was some 30 years ago and the basic treatments are still performed in pretty much the same way. We have a much greater understanding of how it works, and what doses give the best results and in what people. We also have a far greater understanding of the safety profile of the treatment. (It’s safer than crossing the road!). But fundamentally, relaxing the muscles around the eyes to reduce lines and wrinkles is still just the first step in the snowball of techniques that has developed over the years.
Safe injectable dermal fillers were developed that can fill out smooth lines and plump out folds in the skin, as well as rejuvenate thin and poorly defined lips. Next came dermal filler technology that would provide longer lasting robust products that could easily and painlessly be placed deeper into the tissues to provide a volumising effect, in much the same way that a plastic surgeon may have attempted to achieve with cheek and chin implants.
Our anatomical understanding of the aging face has progressed to tell us how loss of facial fat, in very specific areas, seems to progress faster than in other areas, and how this causes characteristic and reproducible aging features in most people. This allowed practitioners to further refine revolumisation techniques for a more natural look, as well as to start to treat areas such as the eyebrow with greater accuracy and better results. We also now have techniques such as vectoring, which involves dermal injection in specific directions to induce a lifting effect to areas such as the jowl and the cheek.
Outside of Botulinum toxins and dermal fillers practitioners have been paying more attention to the skin, with non invasive light based treatments to reduce pigmentation and remove fine blood vessels. Chemical peels to increase skin turnover and even out tone, microneedling to increase collagen synthesis and treat acne scarring, lasers to resurface the skin, stem cells, radiofrequency, microcurrent stimulation, mesotherapy. The list goes on and on.
Our medical directors at Clinetix believe we now have the techniques and the technology to restore a natural healthy and vital look to anyone, without giving the appearance of having had “work done”.

Treating Stretch Marks and Acne with Dermaroller
We have been using Genuine Dermaroller in Clinetix for over a year now and the results have surpassed our expectations.
The treatments were originally used for skin toning. By increasing the connective tissues in the superficial dermis fine lines and wrinkles disappear and the skin tone increases giving a healthy natural appearance. In most cases you get a result almost as good as a laser resurfacing treatment, but without the risk, downtime and expense.
As we developed our technique we started to tentatively treat patients with acne scarring, hoping we would see at best a minimal improvement in the skin. It soon became apparent that microneedling far surpasses any other treatment we have for the treatment of small acne scars. Our clients were noticing dramatic improvement with softening of the scar edges and filling out of deep pock marks, as well as a general improvement in skin tone. We started to introduce topical retinoids that get micro injected into the skin and more recently using a soft dermal filler injected into problem areas and the outcomes just keep improving.
The other area of microneedling that we were skeptical about was for stretch marks. So far we have been unable to find any treatment other than surgery that produces a significant improvement, but following our successes with acne scarring we ran a trial and again we are completely blown away by the results.
We at Clinetix would recommend Genuine Dermaroller as the best available option for treating acne scarring and stretch marks.
Injection Rhinoplasty Course
The Clinetix Introduction to Injection Rhinoplasty course is a one day program that will give you an in depth understanding of nasal anatomy, key danger areas, and techniques that can be used for correcting the commonest nasal deformities. There will be a mix of theory and practical training including both demonstration and supervised practice. You are encouraged to bring your own models where possible to allow you to follow them up after the procedure.
At the end of the course you will be able to confidently assess nasal deformity, understand which deformities can be treated with injection rhinoplasty techniques, carry out injection rhinoplasty, and know when referral for surgical rhinoplasty would be more appropriate..
This is an advanced course and is recommended for experienced injectors or surgeons only.
Course cost:
£1200
Clinetix Face of 2012!
To celebrate our first year of opening at our Sandyford Clinic, we are looking for a model to volunteer for twelve months of free rejuvenation treatments at our west end clinic. It could be someone who has been thinking about treatment for some time, or someone who has already had rejuvenation treatments in the past. The treatments we offer will be tailored to the individual needs of the model and can include wrinkle relaxing injections, dermal fillers, home skin care, chemical peels, and IPL treatments.
We hope to use the model to show how simple procedures, when used correctly, can make a big difference. So we need someone who isn’t too shy and is happy for their image to be used. Get in touch at info@clinetix.co.uk or 0141 2210229
